PARENTS who have lost a baby during pregnancy or have suffered a stillbirth, will again have the opportunity to remember their loved ones this Christmas.

They have been invited to a special service, hosted by the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.

The service will be held this Friday, at 7.30pm at St Thomas’s Church, Longroyd Bridge. Everyone attending is invited to remember their babies by hanging stars and lighting candles in their memory.

Hospital chaplain George Spencer said: “It is heart-breaking for any family to deal with such loss, but we hope these events can provide some comfort to parents and families in their grief and help them to remember their baby, who was so briefly known but dearly loved.”

The Huddersfield service is known as the Lights of Love and is sponsored by Sands charity (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society) which offers support to bereaved parents.
