MEN who want to improve their fitness can take inspiration from their favourite sports team.

Health chiefs at NHS Kirklees are running 12-week schemes for fans of Huddersfield Town and Giants who want to improve their fitness.

It will take inspiration from the clubs’ training and coaching programmes and include weight management and nutrition.

The Get Fit with the Terriers scheme is a football-themed fitness programme which includes activity sessions, healthy eating and nutrition advice, motivational talks and team support.

The Town scheme, run by the club’s Football in the Community department, begins on Monday January 7 from 6-8pm and every Monday until March 25 at the Zone, St Andrews Road, Huddersfield.

Get Fit with the Giants is a similar but rugby-based fitness programme. It runs on Tuesdays, 6-8pm, from January 8, also at The Zone.

Both are free but with limited places for men over 30.
