KIND-HEARTED buddies are needed to help disabled people with the day-to-day pleasures others take for granted.
While able-bodied people can socialise and enjoy all kinds of sports, adults with learning disabilities are often stuck alone at home.
Huddersfield Mencap's Buddies Scheme is looking for helpers to forge a special relationship with an adult with learning disabilities so they can enjoy an active and fulfilled life.
People with disabilities may lack confidence, need help to use public transport, be unable to manage cash or may just want a new friend.
Mencap offers full training and support for all buddies.
Volunteers can choose to work either throughout the day, evening or at weekends.
