WE are doing it – so why don’t you?

That’s the message from these people from Mencap in Huddersfield who are preparing to raise money at the Examiner Charity Challenge.

They will take part in the two-mile wheelchair route at May’s event.

Linda Green, administrator at the charity’s centre off Thornhill Road in Edgerton, said: “It’s a chance to get out in the fresh air and I’m sure our service users will enjoy it.

“It’s a good way to raise cash.”

Mencap works with more than 100 people with learning disabilities in Kirklees – and they are eager for more people to help them boost their final fundraising tally.

The 21st annual charity challenge takes place on Sunday, May 23. Walkers and cyclists will set off from Meltham Sports and Community Centre as normal.

However, the two-mile buggy and wheelchair route has moved this year from Blackmoorfoot to Beaumont Park.

Application forms for the challenge are available at www.examiner.co.uk or by visiting the Examiner’s office on Queen Street South.
