A NEW pharmacy service has been launched for mental health patients in Huddersfield.
South West Yorkshire Mental Health Trust – which deals with people in Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield – has started the specialised programme.
The new service will replace the external pharmacy service previously provided to patients.
It will be run exclusively by the trust and will see dispensing carried out in the community by a specialist team of pharmacy staff.
Chief pharmacist Lynn Haygarth said: “The relocation of the pharmacy is a very positive move for the trust.
“It will streamline services whilst ensuring that dispensing procedures across all our localities, whether on wards or out in the community, are regulated and consistent.”
