TWO schools have merged.
Fee-paying Hipperholme Grammar School and nearby Lightcliffe Preparatory School are joining forces after many years of close working.
The two schools will be part of the Hipperholme Grammar School Foundation - a registered educational charity.
Owner and principal of the Lightcliffe school, Mrs Jackie Pickersgill will continue as principal and all her present staff will retain their appointments.
The two top classes from Lightcliffe have been taught at the Hipperholme site for the last three years.
Chairman of the governors at Hipperholme Mr Stanley Armitage said the merger was the next logical step.
It meant parents would be offered a complete education service from nursery through to university entrance.
