MEMBERS of Lindley Methodist Church have given £1,000 to the Myasthenia Gravis Association, which helps people with a muscle-wasting disease.

Steve Annable received the money on behalf of the Association from Mary McNeil of the Church.

Lindley Methodist Church's Tuesday Group raised the cash through keep fit sessions and coffee mornings over a 12-month period.

The Myasthenia Gravis Association helps people with the rare disorder.

The muscles in the body become quickly tired and this leads to vision problems, difficulty eating or speaking, a drooping head, weak limbs and breathing difficulties.

The Tuesday group has raised a further £1,000 for church funds through the same charity events.
