A man threatened to kill his ex-partner after she took money out of their joint bank account.

Paula Bottomley was so frightened of Michael Missin that she moved house.

Kirklees magistrates warned Missin that the wording in the text messages he sent her was so “grossly violent” that he faces prison.

Missin, of Acre Street in Lindley, pleaded guilty to harassing Ms Bottomley between September 18 and 20.

The court heard that the couple split up nine weeks ago when Missin declared that he had found someone else and was moving out.

When Ms Bottomley refused to let the 47-year-old have his clothes, he texted her: “I will have to come and take them. You don’t need to answer the door, I’ll take it off.”

On September 19 Ms Bottomley withdraw £200 from the couple’s joint bank account.

Then Missin made threats about attending at her parents’ house and warned her that she had until noon to put the money back.

When Ms Bottomley said that she would call police, he texted her: “I’m going to break your jaw, you robbing, low life b*****d.”

She later informed him that she had replaced the money.

James Weekes, prosecuting, said: “He said: ‘If you do that again, I’ll kill you’.

“She moved out because she didn’t want him to know where she was living - she was frightened of him.”

Missin, who appeared in court in custody, also admitted a separate incident of drink-driving and driving whilst disqualified and without a licence.

This happened on October 19 in the Marsh area.

A police officer saw Missin on Westbourne Road and he appeared to be driving at a high speed.

The officer signalled at him to stop but he continued until reaching a dead end.

Missin had 78 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

This was more than double the legal limit of 35 microgrammes.

At the time of the offence Missin was serving a three-year driving ban for another drink-driving matter.

He had five previous convictions for driving whilst disqualified.

Magistrates ordered a full report before sentencing him on November 10.

They warned him that custody us an option due to the grossly violent and offensive content of his text messages.
