HUDDERSFIELD people are being challenged to lay a mile of coins for a good cause.
Shoppers are being urged to chip in with their loose change when the bid is made at the Piazza on Saturday, June 5.
All the money will go to the Kirkwood Hospice, Dalton.
Event organisers at Cleckheaton Rotaract Club are appealing for unwanted coins from people who cannot go along on the day.
Club president Jane Haigh, a nurse from Mirfield, said: "Donations need not be large. Pennies and two penny pieces would do.
"What may be small amounts of money will, collectively, help us achieve our target of raising between £1,000 and £2,000."
Ms Haigh said people with unwanted coins could leave them at Openshaw's Jewellers in Bradford Road, Cleckheaton, or contact her on 01924 497924.
