COUNCILLORS have delayed the demolition of a Huddersfield mill. Quarmby Promotions want to knock down Britannia Mills at Milnsbridge to build 46 homes.
But Kirklees Council’s Huddersfield Planning Sub-committee deferred a decision for discussions on access.
Councillors were unhappy with the proposed six metre-wide entry along Britannia Road.
But Clr Tony Brice spoke out against the whole principle of the development.
The Lindley Conservative is against using industrial land for housing. He said: “I can see in a few years’ time that Huddersfield will be a vast housing estate with a few stores.’’
