A JURY returned this afternoon and cleared a Millwall fan who was suspected of soccer violence in Huddersfield.

Grant Mason, 42, of Kent, had denied charges of violence arising out of 'The Battle of Waterloo' last April.

The jury at Bradford Crown Court took just over an hour to return a not guilty verdict on Mr Mason - who was also awarded £1,000 by the court to cover his travel and accomodation expenses.

He was arrested after up to 60 fans from Huddersfield Town and Millwall clashed in Wakefield Road, Waterloo.

Mason has insisted he was not involved in the violence and was trying to help others get out of the way.
