VILLAGERS have been urged to help save a public toilet.

Kirklees Council is considering closing the lavatories at Morley Lane in Milnsbridge.

Residents can have their say on the plan at a public consultation later this week.

Clr Christine Iredale yesterday urged people to attend the meeting at Milnsbridge Baptist Church, which runs from 6pm to 7pm on Friday.

“I think the council have a duty of care to keep those toilets open,” said the Golcar Lib Dem. “The more people who come and say that at the consultation, the more chance we have of keeping them open.”
