A MAN has appeared in court after driving without a licence or insurance.
Benjamin France, of Sycamore Avenue in Milnsbridge, was before Kirklees magistrates yesterday.
He admitted the charges from November 16.
James Weekes, prosecuting, said that police spotted France as he drove along Moor Hill Road at Salendine Nook.
The 22-year-old spotted the officers and they watched as he sped away.
Magistrates were told that the police recognised France and alerted others.
But it wasn’t until December 5 when he was arrested.
Mr Weekes said: “The defendant came to the police station on unrelated matters and he was arrested for this.”
In interview France accepted that he had no insurance or licence to drive.
Magistrates were told that he has 32 offences on his record.
They fined him £50 and ordered him to pay £85 costs as well as a £20 victim surcharge.
The bench also banned France from driving for six months.
