VANDALS have wrecked an outdoor Christmas lights display in Milnsbridge.
Now mother-of-four Jacqueline Ainsworth, who put up the display, has urged parents to keep better control of their children.
A group of youngsters was seen wrecking the display.
Mrs Ainsworth said she had decorated her garden with an illuminated reindeer, a Santa Claus, a Christmas tree and lights to delight youngsters on their way to the nearby Crow Lane school.
But the reindeer was stolen from the garden on Monday morning and at about 9.15pm on Wednesday a neighbour saw a group of youngsters wearing hooded tops smashing the tree.
Mrs Ainsworth said: "There are only a few strings of lights on the front of the tree now.
"It's not the expense, it's the fact that someone could do this. It's just heart-breaking."
She said: "I have four children of my own, but they are not allowed to go out at night and get up to mischief.
"People need to be more aware of what their children are up to."
