A Huddersfield Town mad dad has created a stunning reconstruction of his favourite place on earth.

Moldgreen man Mark Harrison has spent thousands of hours modelling the John Smith’s Stadium using Minecraft, a computer game of building blocks.

Mark, 40, got hooked on the game after his 11-year-old daughter Jamie-Lee, asked for help with one of her creations in January.

Six months on and Mark has put about three hours per day into building as close a replica of Town’s ground as possible.

“It’s got a bit out of hand,” Mark admitted. “I’m obsessed with the details of the ground. I’m not just doing the outside but the inside and all the concourses and the car parks.

“I’ve been doing it for about four months and time just seems to fly by.

“I was into X-Box before this but this is something different to shoot ‘em ups and typical games.”

Mark reckons he has about a month’s work still to do to finish off the finer details of the ground.

And he is now hoping the club will agree to display an image of his masterpiece next to a photograph of the real thing.

He also plans to follow the trend in America of uploading a Youtube video of his creation to the internet.
