Police had to divert traffic around the scene as paramedics tended to the driver.

Last month residents on the exposed country lane demanded safety improvements after three crashes in three days.

Neighbours in Bellstring Lane and Cockley Hill Lane at Kirkheaton said they feared someone would be killed.

The winding country lane, which runs between Kirkheaton and Upper Hopton, has a 40mph limit but residents say drivers can easily get caught out.

There were three smashes in three days at the start of the month.
