A MIRFIELD park is to get a new look.

Work is due to start on April 4 on landscaping improvements to Ings Grove Park in Mirfield.

The scheme includes a new central entrance to the front of the park with a new steel archway feature, pathway and access improvements, low level lighting to the war memorial, new benches, bins and a toddler play area.

The aim of the scheme is to make the park more visible from the town centre and encourage more people to use the improved facilities.

Some trees have already been removed to create a more open feeling.

Kirklees Council said work is due to start on April 4 and will take around 12 weeks to complete and will be carried out by Landscape Engineering Ltd on behalf of the council.
