Two sisters from Huddersfield are aiming to keep success well and truly in the family.

Daisey and Ellie O’Donnell are competing against each other for the Miss England title.

Daisey, 16, a singer and 2014 X Factor contestant, and 20-year-old Ellie, a fashion blogger and a model, have both been selected for the same semi-final heat.

Both are from Fenay Bridge and were students at Shelley College.

Daisey got through to the Bootcamp stage of the X Factor in 2014 and also made the finals of the Teenstar singing contest earlier this year.

Their success follows an audition and they are competing with 20 other contestants all hoping to become Miss England 2016.

The public vote is now well under way and both girls need the support of the community before voting lines close to clinch a place in the Miss England semi-final in June 2016.

Ellie and Daisey are hoping to win by being voted into the top three in the heat. If either reach this stage, their fate will be in the hands of a panel of judges which includes Miss England 2015 who will decide who is the most photogenic and will win a place in the semi-final at Kelham Hall in Nottinghamshire.

This would give the girls a shot at reaching the grand final.
