POLICE today asked for help in tracing a Huddersfield man.

Istvan Nemeth, 29, disappeared from Sheffield's Northern General Hospital at about 1.30pm on Monday.

Police had found Mr Nemeth, a Hungarian, in the Prince of Wales Road area of the city after they received a report of a man asking for medical help.

He was taken to the hospital' s accident and emergency department by ambulance for treatment to minor injuries.

But he left soon afterwards and has not been seen since.

Police are appealing for help in tracing Mr Nemeth, who is believed to live in the Huddersfield district and was working in the Ossett area.

A police spokesman said: "We don't know why Istvan was in Sheffield, but we are very concerned for his safety."

Mr Nemeth is of eastern European appearance, 5ft 6in tall and of medium build, with short, dark hair, thinning on top. He has a Hungarian accent and speaks very little English.

He was wearing a dark, long-sleeved T-shirt and brown corduroy trousers.
