We asked for names for this photo of Salendine Nook High School pupils from 1962 ... and we got them apart from just one.

The photo was submitted by Examiner reader Stuart Marsden, now 69, (back row, second right) who he wanted some help to name a few of his classmates.

And we were contacted by Malcolm Berry who is at the far right on the back row and he provided just about every name so now there’s just one missing!

Malcolm said he and classmate Rodney Lumb had written all the names out a while back ... and he credits Rodney’s memory more than his own!

Malcolm, 69, is married to Eileen and the couple live in Lindley. They have a daughter, Jennifer, and two-year-old granddaughter Grace.

When he left school Malcolm became a sheet metal worker but then joined the army, serving with the Royal Corps of Signals in Singapore, Borneo and Germany.

He then worked as a machinist for Brook Motors for 38 years.

Malcolm said: “It’s a shame there’s still one name missing so if anyone knows it please let us know.”

The missing name is for the girl third from left on the second row.

The classmates are (back row, from left): Godfrey Topping, John Holroyd, Clive Shackleton, Stuart Marsden and Malcolm Berry; (third row, from left) Malcolm Wood, Peter Hewitson, Roger Haigh, Harben Singh, Barry Higgins, Rodney Lumb, Malcolm Boothroyd, Neil Shaw, Trevor Butterworth; (second row, from left) Stephen Shaw, David Mathieson, still unknown, Pat Dawson, Margaret Ashmore, June Tunnacliffe, Susan Hodgson, Elaine Bateman, Tony Joyce, Pat O’Brian; (front row, from left) Anthea Bottomley, Rosemary Green, Christine Turner, Barbara Whitwam, teacher Mr P Roberts, Carol Nottingham, Wendy Harrison, Rosemary Nottingham and Pauline Charlesworth.
