MURDER squad detectives want to talk to a taxi driver who took a fare to the house where a man died in a party brawl.

The cabbie dropped a group off at the Tintern Avenue address, where a birthday party was taking place, in the early hours of Sunday, February 1.

Violence broke out shortly afterwards. Twenty-two-year-old Stevie Cameron died in the disturbance.

A police spokesman said: "It is believed that a number of individuals involved in the incident caught a minibus taxi with two sliding doors at around 2.20am from Kirkgate in Huddersfield.

"They were then transported to Tintern Avenue and detectives would now like to speak to the driver as a witness."

Twelve men have been arrested over the incident and released on bail pending forensic enquiries.
