DETECTIVES are questioning a man about a town centre robbery in which a pair of teenage girls were tied up.

The man, from Bradford, is being quizzed at Halifax police station in connection with the raid at Superdrug, in Commercial Street, Brighouse on Saturday morning.

The 18-year-old shop girls were opening up when they were forced into the store by raiders and were restrained as thousands of pounds was taken from the shop safe.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw an L-registered turquoise-coloured Toyota Carina in Brighouse town centre before the robbery at 8am to come forward.

The car was found later that morning burnt out in Wensleydale Road, Bradford. It has been sent for forensic examination.

Police are still looking through CCTV footage taken at the time from around the area.
