CARS have been damaged by vandals in Elland town centre.
Police are investigating a number of reports of criminal damage to vehicles and premises over the last week.
And residents living in and around the Catherine Street and Langdale Street area have also reported concerns about anti-social behaviour.
Elland police have now said they are stepping up patrols in a bid to combat the problem.
But they are appealing for people to shop the culprits.
Inspector Mohammed Nawaz, who heads the Neighbourhood Policing Team, said more officers would be patrolling the problem areas.
He said: “Tackling anti-social behaviour in the area remains a priority for us and I can assure residents that work is being carried out to help deter further poor behaviour.
“I am appealing directly to local residents to come forward and report their concerns – I need your support to bring these people to justice.”
“Quite often we receive anonymous complaints from residents, to which we do respond, but often there is insufficient evidence for my officers to take firm action.
“I need our residents to come forward and name those whose behaviour is having an impact on their quality of life.
“My message to residents is simple – help me to help you.”
