WEST Yorkshire Housing Association made its annual general meeting fun for all the family.

Before the meeting, at the Syngenta Conference Centre in Leeds Road, there was a Tenants' Fair with stalls and games for youngsters.

In the evening, property expert Tina Jesson, who has worked as a consultant for television shows Location, Location, Location and House Doctor, gave a speech to tenants.

Mrs Jesson, who also runs a successful home styling business, talked to tenants about a number of subjects, including women in the workplace and the internet.

Association spokesman Ian Byfield said: "We decided to expand it into an interesting event where there would still be an opportunity to give advice to the community.

"We thought that by doing something a bit more fun we could try and communicate with people better. Instead of a traditional AGM we wanted to get more people involved.

"Hopefully this will encourage tenants to form associations and work with us instead of just sending off their rent cheques once a month.

"That way they can tell us what can be improved or what we are doing well."
