A BRIGHOUSE tiles manufacturer is nurturing the next generation of home-grown designers.

The CP Group has launched a new design project for first-year students taking the BA (Hons) degree course in surface design for fashion and interiors at Huddersfield University.

The project, which is led by CP design manager Claire OBrien and Helen Ryall, of Huddersfield University, involves 29 first-year students on a one-month project as part of their studies.

As well as getting real work experience they also get the chance to win £200 and to see their winning design become a reality.

The students will be introduced to the latest trends in interior design and developments in tile manufacturing.

They will also get an insight into CPs innovative production techniques before being invited to put forward a new tile design that CP can create as a sample.

Ms OBrien said: Pattern, texture, colour and innovation are at the heart of what we do and have been since the company began in the 1980s.

Our research and development department, design team and production arm work together to create ranges that are unique, adding value to tiles through decorative designs and cutting-edge technology.

This latest project is very much an extension of our commitment to nurturing and fostering design talent, not just in the company, but with the students who will become the next generation of designers.

Were all very much looking forward to being inspired by the end results and seeing the winning design visualised as a tile.
