A DEVELOPER wanting to build up to 49 homes in Cowlersley is seeking more time.

Ray Valenti, agent for the Nottingham-based Trustees of Sarah Lockwood, have outline planning permission to develop the land to the rear of 38-116 Cowlersley Lane.

It was granted in 2009, but planning consent lapses after three years if no work has begun.

Mr Valenti is seeking an extension to the time limit for the residential development.

In 2009 they secured permission to develop the 1.36 hectare land, which was originally a mill.

It has been cleared and remains empty.

While no detail of the proposed development were submitted, it is thought there could be around 49 dwellings on the site.

Members of the Planning Sub-Committee will consider granting more time at Thursday’s meeting at 1pm at Huddersfield Town Hall.
