A MAN was punched in the face in a road rage attack.

He had followed a car which pulled out in front of him at Manchester Road, Slaithwaite, at 5pm on Friday.

Police are now trying to trace the attacker who left his victim, a 30-year- old Marsden man, with a bruised right cheek and bleeding gums.

The incident started when a red Ford Escort pulled out in front of the victim's car from Brougham Road.

The driver went very slowly along the road and kept braking causing the victim to also brake several times.

When both cars stopped at the side of Manchester Road, the suspect approached the victim's car and started swearing at him.

He then leaned through the open driver's window, punched him in the face and drove off.

He was described as white, aged 30 to 35, about 5ft 10ins and stocky with fair hair, short at the top and shaved at the sides.

He wore a yellow workman's vest, blue jeans and square sunglasses with multi-coloured lenses.
