A MOTORIST was flagged down and attacked in a terrifying attempted car-jacking.

He was struck over the head after stopping to see what two men wanted in Cowlersley.

The incident happened between 6.15pm and 6.30pm on Tuesday when the man was driving a Fiat 500 along Main Avenue.

He stopped, thinking the men wanted directions, wound down his window and was hit on the head.

One of the suspects then told him ‘Give me the car’ and tried to pull him out of the vehicle.

There was a scuffle and the suspects ran away with the victim’s house and car keys as well as his mobile phone.

The first suspect is described as male, mixed race, aged 21, 6ft tall of a slim build.

The second suspect is a white male, around 21 years old, 6ft tall and of a slim build.
