A MOTHER and daughter are to complete the mountainous Inca Trail in Peru for charity.
Christine and Laura Price are to spend five trekking through the Andes to the lost city of Machu Picchu.
Mrs Price, of Lea Drive, Shepley, will fly to Peru on July 18. She will meet Laura in Cuzco.
Laura, 21, who is studying Spanish and Portuguese, is in Brazil as part of a four-year degree course.
Mrs Price is a business studies lecturer at Huddersfield University.
Mrs Price said: "The temperatures vary between 0ºC and 12ºC during the day and go down to -20ºC at night.
"We are camping - and I have not camped since I was 19m," she added.
She has been practising for the trek by hillwalking.
The two hope to raise more than £4,000 for the Laura Crane Trust by completing the trek.
The family adopted the charity after Mrs Price's son, Philip, did voluntary work for it.
The Huddersfield- based charity raises money for research into cancer for young people and also gives money to improve the quality of life for young cancer victims.
