A PIANIST has scooped three awards at a music festival.

Hayley-Danielle Pearson took three first place trophies at the Mrs Sunderland competition.

The Shelley College pupil has been playing piano since she was five and has entered the competition before.

Her mother and music tutor, Lorraine Pearson, said: “She’s elated about it.

“She has always been interested in music and started playing when she was really young.

“She has won one or two prizes over the years but to win three this year is something special.”

Hayley-Danielle also plays the flute and is studying for a music AS-level at college.

The 17-year-old hopes to continue studying music at university and follow in her mother’s foot-steps.
