TWO Huddersfield men have been arrested after a road rage incident ended in an alleged murder bid.

The incident was in Oldham, Greater Manchester, on Tuesday night.

Police confirmed today that two Huddersfield men were detained along with a man from Oldham.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: "A 20-year-old man from Huddersfield and a 22-year-old man from Oldham were arrested in Cumbria on Wednesday night on suspicion of attempted murder.

"Officers also arrested a 26- year-old man from Huddersfield on suspicion of perverting the course of justice."

All three were released on bail pending further inquiries.

A 25-year-old victim suffered severe facial injuries when he was dragged along Oldham Road in Failsworth.

He was said to be in a poorly but stable condition at North Manchester General Hospital today.

He was a passenger in a Fiat car which was involved in an altercation with the driver of a Toyota Corolla at around 10.30pm.

Police say the Toyota followed the Fiat. When both cars stopped the victim got out of the Fiat and had an argument with the Toyota driver. When the Toyota set off, the man was dragged around 700 yards along the road.
