MORE than 80 detectives, forensic officers and support staff from West Yorkshire Police are to receive awards tonight for their work on an horrific Huddersfield murder case.
They are being commended for their investigation into the murder of eight members of the same family more than two years ago.
Three generations of the Chishti family were killed in the blaze in Birkby in May, 2002.
The fire prompted the largest multiple murder investigation that the force had carried out in almost three decades.
A police spokeswoman said some of those receiving commendations at the ceremony in the town dealt with the criminal investigation itself.
Others worked with and supported the Chishti family.
