A HUDDERSFIELD barber pleaded not guilty to murdering his 67-year- old father when he appeared before a judge at Bradford Crown Court yesterday.

Divorced father-of-two Dawood Ahmed, 34, spoke through an interpreter when he entered his plea at a brief hearing before the Honorary Recorder of Bradford, Judge Stephen Gullick.

Ahmed is alleged to have murdered Sana Ullah at the home they shared in Bradford Road, Fartown.

Mr Ullah had suffered stab wounds and police discovered his body on a bed at the house on September 22.

Judge Gullick confirmed that Ahmed's trial was due to start on January 19 and he was remanded back into custody until that date.
