Detevtives have launched a murder investigation after a woman died from stab wounds at a house in Calderdale.
Officers were called to Rooley Heights, Sowerby, at 5.52pm on Wednesday night after receiving reports of a disturbance.
On arrival they found a 42-year-old had suffered serious stab wounds. Paramedics were called but sadly she was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 44-year-old man, who also suffered stab wounds in the incident, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is under police guard at hospital.
His injuries are described as non-life threatening stab wounds.
Det Chief Insp Steve Snow, from West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said: “We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this investigation and the 44-year-old man will be interviewed by officers once he is well enough to leave hospital.
“While incidents like this are understandably disturbing for those living locally I would like to reassure people that there is no wider danger to members of the public and neighbourhood officers are in the area offering support and reassurance to local residents.”
