DETECTIVES have until 10pm tonight to continue questioning 30-year-old Paul Dyson on suspicion of murdering his girlfriend Joanne Nelson in Hull.
Humberside Police have held Mr Dyson since Friday teatime and had previously been granted a 12-hour extension by a force superintendent to continue quizzing him.
Yesterday they were granted the further extension by magistrates in Hull.
Despite extensive police searches no sightings have been made of the 22-year-old JobCentre worker since she was last seen almost a week ago.
Mr Dyson said the couple exchanged Valentine cards last Monday morning before he left for work. When he returned to their home in Hull she had disappeared.
On Saturday, specialist search teams drafted in from the Peak District scoured Brantingham on the outskirts of Hull and volunteer teams have been searching the Hessle foreshore area.
