A TRIBUTE CD raising money for the memorial funds of two murdered West Yorkshire police officers goes on sale tomorrow.

The money raised will boost the memorials funds for Pcs Ian Broadhurst and Sharon Beshenivsky.

Pc Beshenivsky was shot dead in Bradford last November and her funeral was held in the city on Wednesday, while Pc Broadhurst was murdered by a gunman in Leeds on Boxing Day, 2003.

The CD has been recorded by two Kirklees traffic officers. Pc Paul Feather, 37, and Pc Richard Hopper, 40 - who are both based in the Dewsbury area - have recorded a version of the REM classic Everybody Hurts. It goes on sale at The White Rose Shopping Centre near Leeds from 11am tomorrow.

Pc Feather sang on the CD and Pc Hopper organised the production and sponsorship.

Pc Feather said: "We wanted to do something to raise money for the families of Sharon and Ian and it seemed like a good idea to record the song. The lyrics are particularly appropriate, as everyone has been affected in some way by Sharon and Ian's deaths."

Pc Hopper said: "I knew Ian as we both joined the traffic department together. We completed our initial courses at the same time.

"His death was difficult to come to terms with and, while I didn't know Sharon personally, the circumstances brought back many of the memories of the day Ian died."

White Rose Shopping Centre manager Peter Cook said: "We are pleased to be able to support Paul and Richard by providing a venue for them to sell the CD.

"It's for an extremely worthwhile cause and we hope they raise a lot of money."

There are 5,000 copies of the CD available and they cost £3.50 each. They will be on sale at Asda, Sainsbury's, Woolworths and HMV stores, as well as at the White Rose centre.

The single will also be available as a download from www.itunes.com

* Police investigating Pc Beshenivsky's murder are continuing to question two people in connection with firearms offences today.
