IT was the swimming pool that really drew teacher Catherine Lydon to this turn-of-the centruy semi in Kirkheaton.

She moved to 10 Newland Road two years ago from Leigh On Sea, Essex, after visiting her sister in Mirfield and enjoying the Yorkshire countryside.

And she admits she's felt like she's always on holiday living there, relaxing either poolside and out on her decking.

Catherine, who is 50 and a keen walker, is now moving back down south to be nearer to her three grown-up sons.

"I missed my family more than I thought I would," she says.

Now the house is on the market jointly with Carter Jonas and Boultons, priced £325,000.

Catherine, who has been teaching sociology at a sixth-form college in Leeds, has a new teaching job in Essex.

She says: "I wanted to live in a less crowded place when I came here.

"I wish I could pick up the house and take it with me."

Another big plus point was the privacy of the house and its gated back access, used only by residents at a few houses.

The house has four bedrooms including a big, attic one, a luxurious bathroom, a high-ceilinged lounge and dining room and a modern kitchen.

There's a swimming pool and conservatory and planning permission for a double garage.

"The thing I love best is the decking at the front," says Catherine. "It gets the sun from 9am to 9pm. And the neighbours are lovely."
