A VAN was left badly damaged by a lorry in a hit-and-run crash.
A blue lorry was seen reversing into the red Fiat Scudo van at the entrance to Glendale Mill on Sheffield Road, New Mill, at 3.30pm on Tuesday.
The lorry, with Leggett's written on the side, was turning around at the time.
Pc Peter Doyle, of Huddersfield traffic police, said: "We need to speak to anyone who saw what happened, or who knows where the lorry has come from or where it was going."
Managers at Legg- ett's Transport in Suffolk have told police they did not have a lorry in the Huddersfield area on Tuesday.
"It may be it is an old Leggett's container which has been sold on," said Pc Doyle.
