HUDDERSFIELD: Two new bids to cut substance abuse in 14 to 16-year-olds are being made. The Government has given £25,000 to be used to pay for a website and a CD-Rom. These will be introduced to schools at roadshows. The CD-Rom is based on A Shot in the Dark, a show developed by The Wright Stuff puppet theatre company. Clr Andrew Marchington, a Kirklees Council Cabinet member, said: "It is essential that young people get good information around substance misuse issues." The project also offers training for teachers and other staff. The £25,000 comes from the Kirklees Neighbourhood Renewal Fund, a regeneration scheme overseen by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister.
