THE NEW Roman Catholic Bishop of Leeds, the Rt Rev Arthur Roche, was today pledging himself to serve the people of West Yorkshire.
The pledge - being made at a service in St Anne's Cathedral, Leeds - comes three years to the day since he was ordained acting bishop.
In front of more than 600 people he will promise that with their help he will dedicate himself to the service of West Yorkshire people.
Taking part in this service will be the Lord Mayor of Leeds and a representative from the West Yorkshire Ecumenical Council, as well as clergy and laity from across the diocese.
Also present will be the Archbishop of York, Dr David Hope, and a number of other leading Anglicans.
