YOUNGSTERS could benefit from a new children’s centre.

Kirklees Council wants to build the centre at Upper Whitley Junior and Infant School in Grange Moor.

The proposed building would be to the rear of the school on Liley Lane.

It would include a larger room of 60 sq m which would be used as a toddlers’ room and for an after-school club.

A smaller room of 25 sq m would be used for training and meetings.

The building would be a single-storey timber-framed structure with straw bale insulation.

Public consultation on the plan ends on April 30.
