STAR-STRUCK Huddersfield youngsters can join a new all-singing all-dancing performing arts school.

Stage Pass, which started its first term on Saturday at Huddersfield New College, caters for children aged from six to 16 years.

It runs three-hour sessions at the college every Saturday, covering singing, acting and dancing skills.

Diane Burton, who acts as administrator for the school, said: "We wanted to establish a school for all performing arts for young people.

"It is an excellent way to help children develop and build their confidence.

"Students and parents have been very supportive.

"A lot of the youngsters who have joined us know the directors from previous work they have done. "

The teachers - known as directors - are all experts in either dance, drama or singing and have experience of working with youngsters.

An hour is dedicated to each discipline.

Pupils of all abilities can attend the school, which has a maximum of 15 in each group.

The current term ends on July 14, with a show for friends and family, but new pupils can join at any time.

Stage Pass costs £15 a week. Contact Diane Burton on 01484 690499.
