THE Government is to appoint new governors to run a Kirklees school.
Earlsheaton Technology College is to have an interim executive board appointed by the Department for Education to replace the governors.
The five education experts will replace the governors on October 31. The IEB will also look at a move to academy status, which would mean the school is directly funded by government and no longer accountable to Kirklees Council.
A spokesman said the changes were not expected to affect the day-to-day running of the school, which has 865 students. Recent Ofsted inspections had said improvements were needed.
