AN APPEAL for food parcels for rejected asylum seekers in Huddersfield has been made by a support group.

Kraft - Kirklees Refugees and Friends Together - about 200 people who have been refused asylum desperately need help.

Kraft Press officer Alan Brook said: "These people have been refused asylum, which means all their benefits are cut.

"But it often takes several months for the bureaucracy to be sorted out before they can go back home.

"In the meantime, they have nothing to live off, no home, no money, no food.

"They depend on friends and people in the community to support them," he added.

"We are appealing for people to give tinned and dried food and anything that will keep, so we can distribute it to those most in need."

Anyone who can help should ring Kraft on Huddersfield 01484 353489.
