CHILDREN'S cancer charity CLIC has appointed a new fund- raising manager.

Adele Robertson will work throughout the north of England to help families with children diagnosed with cancer or leukaemia.

CLIC, which stands for Cancer and Leukaemia in Childhood, was formed in Bristol 28 years ago.

It now operates throughout the UK.

CLIC offers clinical services and can also act as a cushion against financial and emotional crisis.

It funds accommodation, specialist doctors, nurses and play specialists, teenager support and research and care grants.

Adele said: "In certain areas, particularly the north, CLIC is still relatively unknown.

"I want to work with local communities to ensure that all children with cancer and their families in West Yorkshire can benefit from CLIC's help."
