HEALTH officials in Huddersfield are seeking the public’s views on urgent care.

In a bid to help shape the new face of services in Kirklees, the Primary Care Trust would like to hear about your experiences.

Urgent care covers those NHS services which offer advice or treatment immediately, but not the life-threatening illness or injuries treated by medical professionals at accident and emergency departments.

It also covers unplanned and unscheduled care which is delivered by GPs at out-of-hours services, minor injury units and walk-in-centres along with NHS direct, emergency dental services and pharmacies.

To date, 90 residents in the area have filled in a survey and NHS Kirklees are urging those who haven’t, to have their say before the deadline on March 5.

Urgent Care Programme manager Pat Andrewartha said: “We want to make our services as accessible and convenient as possible and getting a clear picture of local residents’ opinions about current services and what they’d like to see in future is absolutely vital in helping us improve what’s available.

“We really want to hear from all residents.”

The responses will be reported to the NHS Calderdale, Kirklees, and Wakefield District Cluster board.
