NO criminal action is to be taken against an associate of Moors Murderer Ian Brady.

Brady’s mental health advocate Jackie Powell, who was arrested on suspicion of preventing the lawful burial of Brady’s victim Keith Bennett, is not to face any charges, the Crown Prosecution Service said.

Police have never found the body of 12-year-old Keith, murdered by Brady and his accomplice Myra Hindley.

It is thought he is buried on the bleak Saddleworth moors high above Meltham.

Powell was at the centre of an inquiry last year, after claims that a letter about Keith had been passed to her by Brady.
