A BEER festival aims to raise cash for charity at the weekend.

Denby Dale Lions are staging the event tonight and tomorrow at the Pie Hall.

There will be 12 beers from West Yorkshire's smallest breweries available for tasting. The price of the first drink includes a commemorative glass.

There will music from Winston's Pennine Jazz tonight and The Dixie Road Duo tomorrow evening. Organisers are also screening the Six Nations rugby matches tomorrow.

They are also encouraging people to travel by train rather than by car.

Denby Dale rail station is 10 minutes' walk from the venue. The event runs from 7.30pm to 11.30pm tonight, and from 1.30pm to 11.30pm on Saturday. Funds raised will go to local Lions charities.
