A NEW report into the future of nursing comes under the spotlight in Huddersfield.

The Prime Minister's Commission has published its final report, which is the culmination of a year-long review during which nurses, midwives, members of the public and other stakeholders shared their views on the future of the professions.

Now the report is to be debated at a public meeting of nurses at the University of Huddersfield on Wednesday.

The Royal College of Nursing, which has organised the meeting, has welcomed the report and is urging all parties involved in health care policy and delivery to act immediately to ensure its vision becomes a reality.

Sue Bernhauser, a member of the Commission and the university’s Dean of Human and Health Sciences, will be discussing aspects of the report at the meeting, which starts at 6pm in Room HWG/04 in the Harold Wilson Building .
