A MAN who ran a popular coach firm for many years has died on holiday.
Mr John Bragg, who was boss of Stanley Gath Coaches, of Thornhill Lees, Dewsbury, died on the island of Tenerife.
He was 52.
Mr Bragg, who was born and brought up in Dewsbury, attended Dewsbury Technical College.
He and his wife Angela ran the travel company together. It had been founded by her parents Stanley and Mabel Gath.
Away from his business interests, Mr Bragg, of Thornhill Lees, was a keen sports fan.
In his younger days he was a noted trials bike rider.
But rugby was his main love. He played for Shaw Cross as a young man and later became involved with the Thornhill Trojans rugby league club.
His son Ash played for the club and Mr Bragg's company was the main sponsor.
Player-coach Jason Firth said: "John will be sadly missed. The whole club is stunned. He has done such a lot for us over the years and has always been there when we needed him."
His death on Tenerife came during a family holiday. No funeral service has yet been arranged.
